ABOUT
SERVICES

Skimming

Skimming is a plastering technique which involves applying a thin coat to walls to create the smooth surface required for painting or decorating. Either the skim plaster is applied to an existing plaster finish, or it's used to cover plasterboard.

Bonding

Bonding Plaster: Bonding is an undercoat plaster. This means it is the first coat, or undercoat to be applied to a new (or to be patched) wall. When it is trowelled off, it is scratched with a nail to give a “key” for the top coat, or finish plaster to adhere to.

Plaster Bonding

We undertake all aspects of work from new sites to house refurbishments.

Dot & Dab

'Dot and dab' refers to the way the plasterboard adhesive is applied in evenly spaced dots and dabs across the surface of the wall. Dot and dab is popular because it's quicker, easier and less messy than methods such as wet plastering. It also means you can finish and decorate walls straight away.

Stud Walls

A wall stud is a vertical framing member in a building's wall of smaller cross section than a post. They are a fundamental element in frame building.

Lowered Ceilings

We undertake all aspects of work from new sites to house refurbishments.

Soundproofing

Soundproofing new or existing walls involves adding mass behind the walls and/or something that absorbs and dissipates sound waves. Tips and advice for soundproofing walls include: Install your wall soundproofing materials on the side of the wall from which the noise is coming

Insolation

Building insulation is any object in a building used as insulation for any purpose. While the majority of insulation in buildings is for thermal purposes, the term also applies to acoustic insulation, fire insulation, and impact insulation

What our clients say about us!

We’ve recently used LA Plastering for a ceiling and one wall including chimney breast. Lee provided a fantastic service. Great communication and punctual. He arrived on the said day and time he said he would and worked solidly until the job was finished. Fantastic end result and competitive price. He left the room he was working in nice and tidy too. Great service, we would definitely use again. 👌🏻
